We fill the dampers and some forks after service with the vacuum pump Provon Laba7. So we can be sure that the dampers are optimally vented.
We fill our dampers with nitrogen and not with air. This guarantees a more constant performance even at high temperatures.
Data-based suspension analysis at racing level In our workshop, we use two precise Laba7 test benches to analyze suspension components objectively and reproducibly - regardless of the subjective driving experience.
🔧 Spring test bench
We use the Laba7 Spring Curve Tester to record the exact spring characteristics of air and steel springs. This allows us to visualize linear, progressive or degressive curves and compare them in a targeted manner - e.g. when varying volume spacers or different air chamber pressures. The graphical evaluation enables precise adjustment of the spring characteristics to the individual area of application.
🔍 Damper test bench
The Damper Dyno allows a detailed analysis of the damping behavior of forks and dampers under controlled conditions. We measure the compression and rebound damping (high and low speed) across different strokes and speeds and can therefore directly compare different shim stacks (valvings).
This not only makes the setup tangible, but also allows it to be optimized based on data - for maximum traction, control and efficiency.
In short: we don't rely on feeling - we measure. And tune your suspension based on real data.
The BYB Telemetry System is a high-precision analysis tool that can make the difference in the Downhill World Cup scene - and is also used by us. While riding, the system records the movement of the suspension in real time, including compression and rebound, riding speed, GPS data, braking behavior and much more. The collected data is then analyzed in detail on the laptop. This gives us a complete picture of the suspension behavior under real conditions - not in the laboratory, but on the trail. A big advantage: the system works independently of the air chamber and is therefore also perfect for steel spring shocks. Even more importantly, it provides us with clear conclusions about the balance of the bike, the suspension dynamics and possible setup optimizations - data-based, comprehensible, measurable, resulting in a setup that not only rides better - but is technically well-tuned.
